Wrapping fig cuttings in layers of plastic wrap.

Jon,

Please elaborate on how you triple wrap the cuttings in plastic wrap. You mentioned this on another thread and it would be great if you would let us know how you prepare the cuttings before you wrap them and if you wrap them to keep air out, which is what triple-wrapping sounds to me.

Also, has anyone ever used a Food Saver vacuum machine to wrap cuttings to store in the fridge, or out of the fridge, so that the air is virtually removed from the bag during storage time? If so, please share that with us, as well.

Noss,

- Clean and scrub them with 10% bleach solution.
- Let them dry.
- Double/triple wrap them well with saran wrap.

I dont keep air out.

Food saver? Havent used it yet.

After you wrap them, do you keep them in the fridge for storage?

I think I'll put some cuttings in the Foodsaver bags and suck the air out of the bags, then put them in the fridge and see what happens with them as opposed to cuttings put in the fridge just in a plastic bag.

Yes, I keep them in the refer. They also ship great in Saran wrap.
