figs that require pollination

Does anyone have experience with figs that require pollination? I have heard that the fig wasp is not adapted to colder climates and that it can introduce organisms that lead to spoilage. On the plus side, I have heard that the varieties that do require pollination are excellent.

There are many good fig varieties (i.e. common figs) that do not require pollination. Enjoy these in your Zone 7 as many are doing.
