Hi everyone,

I, being an Italian-American who is very in tune with his culture, am on a mission to collect as many vegetable seeds, herb seeds, and fruit trees as I can that are Italian heirlooms. I'm am looking for any other Italian-American gardeners who share my passion. I'd love to trade or purchase seeds and cuttings from other Italians so I can widen my collection. In the future, I hope to make my collections available to all Italian-Americans, so that we can all experience the hobbies of our forefathers.

By the way, my family comes from Pratola Peligna, Chieti, Abruzzo, and Popoli, Pescara, Abruzzo, as well as Bergamo and Chiesabianca in the north. For this reason, Abruzzese seeds are very important to me.

Ciao Joe, Go to growitalian.com they have all imported italian seeds, Franchi seed which I have purchased in Italy as well, which is ironically from Grassobbio,Bergamo, so there you go. That were the seed centre is located. They will also send you a book, there is much Abruzzese heirloom herbs and vegetables ect you can choose from.
Was stranded in Newyork, not able to Go home to Abruzzo as scheduled at end of month,The snowstorm hit, everything shut down at airports. it was a great headache, completely upsetting, but rebooked, just can't wait to go home and see the family. Just a little longer wait anyway. Good luck with grow Italian! Ciao

Just looked at growitalian and they have some great seeds, thanks for the advice. The only problem is that now I have to choose! It's great that they do have many of the heirlooms that my parents used to grow that were lost.
Sorry about the canceled flight, but at least you'll get to go later. You must have missed Christmas with the family though?
