I could suggest Heathcote Botanical Gardens just off Rte 1 in Ft Pierce. It's a gem. You could come and visit me at my shop! DH and I own a motorcycle shop in Jensen Beach.
You could email the Chamber of Commerce for some suggestions. I'll see what I cam find for you.

Marion, sorry we didn't get as far as Jensen Beach. On our way to Ft. Pierce, we heard an ad on the radio for the Wings & Wheels air show, so we went. It was great! First time we had ever been to one. The one near us at MacDill Air Force Base is always so crowded that we never went to it, but now that we've seen what they have at these things, we'll try to get to it this year.

We found the Ft. Pierce Marina and had a great meal, and drinks, at the Tiki Bar Restaurant. We couldn't get over all the yachts docked there. Lot of money in that area, but then you drive back over the bridge and you're in a very low income area. We were sorry to see that they are building condos across the Indian River. They seem to have to put condos everywhere along the water, ruining everyone's view.
My DH had a great time at the Mets game. They won.
