Rest? I've spent the morning pruning all my shrubs and bananas! Yeah, I'm resting up for a few minutes by sitting at the computer with a bottle of water and some Girl Scout cookies. Then it's back to the yard to plant the two flats of bright red salvia I bought last night.
Honestly, I think I have gotten over the shock of losing my mother so suddenly. I've done most of the 'needs to be done' stuff and now I'm down to just going through all her papers to see what can be tossed and what I need to save. Not a fun job, but it's something I don't have to rush to finish.
I'm still dealing with her not being there, though. When I left the garden center last night I pulled out my cell phone to call her and tell her what I bought. Actually was starting to push the #6 button (M for Mom, of course) when it hit me. Can't tell you how many times I've done that.

Ah, but what you really wanted to know about was the leather! I have a few pieces but none of the lambskin soft stuff except for some small strips. I get almost all of mine through e Bay. I checked there for you and found this piece - it's a nice size and a reasonable price. There are quite a few things listed so have fun searching! Be sure to buy a good machine needle designed for work on leather. You'll find it anywhere they sell sewing machine needles.
I'll also check my stash a little better later and see if I can't find something you might be interested in. I have a lot of little scrap pieces if you are interested in adding some accents.

I really did want to know how you were doing, but I wasn't sure how to ask. I understand about picking up the phone to call...I still do it and it's been 11 years. Now I just laugh and look up and talk with him anyway. I cried every day for two years, while I was taking a shower. Everyone deals with grief differently and in their own time.

Thank you for the link. I never thought about looking on eBay. I'll check it out and see what I find. I only use Schmetz needles on my Bernina, I learned that lesson years ago.
