Ceiling Repair in Orlando? Recommendations?

I need a good ceiling repair company. Can anyone make a recommendation? I figure that enough of you had repairs done during the hurricanes that you might have recommendations for me.

When a spot showed on the ceiling in the kitchen two weeks ago, I thought I was really on top of the problem because I called the roofing company and set up an appointment for repairs. 2 weeks didn't seem like too long to wait. Then we had our first tropical storm of the year and my spot turned into a small leak. Not good, but the repair was scheduled so I didn't panic. Then yesterday we had a major downpour and this is what I found when I got home!

Actually, that's the way it looked after I cleaned up a couple inches of water on the floor and several garbage bags full of sopping wet insulation.

This morning, to add a little spice to the situation, I heard the chatter of a squirrel and looked up to see a furry little face looking down at me from the hole! Dogs and cats erupted in a squirrel-induced frenzy. The critter was smart enough to stay where he was and I've stationed one very alert Sheltie in the kitchen to keep him/her up there.

ohhh MERCY, Kate!!! yuuuuuk!!!! It looks just like my kitchen did two years ago on Christmas Day!!!! 2004 - the year of THE HURRICANES! we were well-tarped (so we THOUGHT!) and the roofers were due on December 27th. weeeelll..... 7 am on Christmas morning..my very, very SICK 28 year old son and I were at the fire station begging for new tarps...(spouse was recovering from surgery on Dec 23rd!)..arrggh...the Christmas to remember...water POURING through the ceiling in the kitchen amid smells of roasting prime rib and all the Christmas trimmings! Hahahahhaa..ohhhhwell...we made it! I wish you were in this county, Kate...I know all kinda drywall guys here..and painters... You should probably call a GOOD paint and decorating center for some recommendations. I wish you well, and my heart hurts for you... this is NO fun.

Oh wow, my heart goes out to you. Reminds me of the victorian I had in NJ. We did have some minor storm damage to our ceilings here too. Does HD do those kind of repair?

I'm in shock tonight! Our home owners insurance guy was out a couple days after this all happened and looked at the damage. We were expecting a hard time from them because after the hurricanes our claim resulted in a check for $38. Just enough for a really nice bottle of vodka and a trip to Taco Bell... (All our neighbors with similar problems received 5-figure checks and major roof repairs. Not us.)
Well today I received a check that I'm sure will be pretty close to enough to cover the repairs, especially if we can figure out how to do the ceiling repair ourselves. No hassles, no long wait, no worries!
