What can I say? You try and help neighbors and this is what you get. No wonder people don't even want to know their neighbors. Such a sad would. Just know that you will get paid back, one way or the other.

I guess thats why God had to remind us to love our neighbors,sure is easy to forget THAT one.

My grandfather always said never a borrower or a lender be....now this does not mean he was stingy...in fact he gave to many of his neighbors even sending some of their children to school...but he never ever expected to be repaid. I have grown up the same way...never lend what you can't afford to lose. And school has taught me that many times good samaritans end up getting "screwed" or "sued" in the end. Not exactly sure what the moral of the story is...I have learned though never to alter my property in any way in conjunction with neighbors...no shared fences ...or shared bills so to speak :-)

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with your neighbor even after you went to so much trouble to help them out. After being burnt by a few people that I'd thought were friends I now hold to the same philosophy as trinigemini's grandfather.
