Yeah - one evening we were having dinner at a little diner down the road. Seated next to me at the counter was a nicely dressed gentleman who asked me if I would read the menu to him, as he was blind. Obviously, I did, and helped him through his dinner as needed.

He started complaining when the waitress was slow in bringing him his food - he had to be sure and leave before the sun went down because he had a hard time driving in the dark.......

Guess if we want to be safe, our defensive driving skills need to always be extra sharp!

Years ago my father-in-law(deceased now) had to retake the driving part of the test. He had had a stroke. He used his cane to get into his big honkin Caddy and sure enuff, the guy passed him! I guess if you don't run over anyone or anything during the test in the parking lot...you pass!!!!

We saw a man getting out of his scooter using two canes to walk yesterday, but, thankfully, he wasn't getting into the driver's side of the car. His wife was driving. She was in her 80's and walked with a cane!!! I felt much better knowing she was driving and not him!!!!

I also recently renewed my driver's license and they reused my picture from gix years ago. Mine is good until 2012. The irony is I still look the same as I did then, but oh honey the next 6 years will bring a major difference I am sure. Wonder if the law enforcement officer will be able to recognize me or think I sole someone elses? Linda

That is too funny !! My license has been renewed since '94 - and will expire in 2012. By then I may have blue hair like my grandma !
