Good Question....

I had someone ask me the other day if they knew anything about laws or regulations about making baked goods in your home and then selling them. I have no idea, I replied.

Curious if anyone knows the answer to this? Or how to find out?

Hope everyone is enjoying our nice, "HOT" weather. We have been having power flickers. Assuming due to all the overload with a/c's going.

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Cliff I'd call the Dept of Agriculture. They seem to license all businesses. I tried to do the same thing years ago in MA. You had to have a commercial kitchen and all kinds of inspections. New Hampshire has a wonderful program through UNH and the Cooperative extension. They allow you to use their commercial kitchens. They also allow you to use the kitchens for canning.

Thanks Ms Marion :)

Seems this is the case every where. Spoke with Ryan's Grandmother who makes and sells cookies in Michigan. She had to have a commercial kitchen as well.

I ran into the same problem. Wanted to do salsas, relishes & chutneys at the Farmers Market, but can't afford the permits and commercial kitchen time.

I finally found a commercial kitchen in Orlando (Winter Springs). Rents by hour with a 3 hour minimum. If anyone needs the info, let me know.
