I am so glad you saved money too. I wanted everyone to know about it. Since I had never heard about it and I was sure most others don't know about it yet either. They need to call their agent and find out what it could save them.

Yea.... the insurance agent isn`t going to go
out of their way to help you when it will end up costing them a little bit of money LOL !

My agent is the one that told me about it. And told me what it would cost, $75, and what it would save, $500. She even hooked me up with the inspecter that came out the next day, so it could get summited for this years premium.

I think all people need to do is call their agents.

Is the Uniform Mit. Ver. different than an inspection for hurricane protection?
The going rate for the wind inspection is $125 here.

I don't know if it is the same, that was the name on the form. I have a copy and the agent gets a copy. It is good for 5 years and it was $75. If I switched agents I could just show my copy for the discount from the new company within the 5 years.

We were fortunate to get the inspection during the time that the state was still paying the contractor. (My agent is the one who told me.) The savings on the premium was close to a grand!!! We were stunned!

I finally got all my numbers squared away from this inspection. I had it done back when it was free but never submitted it because I thought I needed the final report. That was dumb. They wanted the original papers from the day of the inspection. I got a refund of $76 from citizens for less than 1 month. But my new policy went down over $1800 for the year. Mine is so high because my house was built in 2005 I think.
