I have the same problem.They come up amidst my roses and everwhere.Some I let grow since I discovered the potager garden.If they fruit you can always give them to the homeless shelter.

Well I had a stray tomato seedling come up under my oak tree (!!) and I just let it grow. So far it has produced larger and more tomatoes than my tomato plants in "good" soil.

Since I grow only heirloom tomatoes (which come true from their own seed unlike hybrids)it's a nice surprise.
I need every tomato I can get this year since I was hit hard with the leaf curl virus (TYLCV) at the beginning of the season.

I'm so envious of y'all. I had one roma plant last year that produced more than we would normally buy, but we ate every last one of them. It even continued to produce for weeks after the spider mites moved in.

So this year, I put in a big vegetable garden, grew a bunch of different heirlooms and hybrids from seeds (catalogues and saved), bought tomatoe cages and organic tomato fertilizer, set up drip hoses. The works.

I haven't gotten a single tomato yet. I don't seem to have diseases. Some caterpillars, but I've been picking them off.

Mostly, I've just got tall, rangy looking tomato plants that sometimes flower, but don't set fruit.

Anyone got thoughts on what I did wrong? Tried too hard? I'm new to this.

I see you are in zone 10b and I can only guess that it's been too darn hot for them to set fruit. last winter I had a great tomato season and this winter really off.

that's my best guess. just don't fertilize them,that will just encourage leafy growth.

Thanks Naples, that makes me feel better about my little farming operation. Maybe this cold front will do the trick. I wonder how the Homestead growers survive this heat.
