Happy Thanksgiving from FlowerLady

Here it is another Thanksgiving holiday and I want to wish all of you a wonderful, love, peace, and laughter filled day. There is so much to be thankful for. Each of us is blessed in different ways. Even this Mockingbird is thankful for berries that form on this Firebush. This picture was taken a little while ago, early afternoon. It is about 64 degrees here, very windy, gray and is supposed to go down to around 44 tonight breaking a record low temp of 45 for this time of year. The felines are hunkered down in the barn, they have a huge pet porter in there with old flannel blankets that they can go into to snuggle down and get warm. Last year this time they were out in the wilds of the property having to get warm however. This year they have something to be thankful for too, regular meals, a safe haven from other critters, and the elements. It is supposed to be cold every night through Thanksgiving day so we are in for a treat after a long, hot and humid summer!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too and to all. I'll take the heat any day over this, but it is nice to have the fireplace lit instead of just candles in it for effect. lol

Hi Kat ~ I'm loving this weather after all the heat and humidity we've had. At least we had no hurricanes this year. That's really something to be thankful for. We got our radiant heat - heater down from the attic and it sure took the chill out of our cottage. How nice to be able to enjoy a fire in a fireplace.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too FlowerLady. Yes, we have a lot to be thankful for. When it gets cold I feel so bad for all the people that don't have the comforts that we have in the First World. I know people in Guatemala who have to sleep on the bare floor without blankets and it gets very cold there too. I wish I could do more for them. I would gladly give up celebrating the holidays by spending money on food and gifts but I have to go along with the rest of the family. I would still celebrate but I would do it in a different way.

Hello Carmie and welcome to this forum. Your thoughts for helping others less fortunate touches my heart. We all celebrate holidays in different ways, and one of these days you will be able to celebrate in ways that mean something special for you, in helping others.
