Zooming ads - not my kind of garden

I have not been eager to check in to GardenWeb much in the past year. I think it has to do with the zooming advertisements and the slower opening times (is there a connection?). I haven't noticed others mentioning this (lately). Is there a solution I have missed that others have found?

I want to come to a peaceful place, like a garden - not to a TV screen when someone else is surfing with the controls!

Am I alone in this?

The only times I see those ads are when I have not yet logged in. I also noticed a drop in all pop-ups when I switched from Netscape to Mozilla Firefox. Check your options (under "Tools") and see if you can't do something about blocking pop-ups. That might help.

You can also pay the membership fee and be ad free, but I'm sure if you're a little computer savvy there are other ways. I'm not, so I paid the membership - think it's $15 a year. I'm due for renewal soon.

There's no more membership fees, since iVillage took over.
