Just a dream :-(

This morning my kids woke me up at the regular time, 6:30 a.m., but I told my husband I needed to sleep more so they let me do it. I thought of getting up and working in the garden but it was raining so I decided to fall asleep again. Well, I had the most wonderful dream. I was dreaming that I had gone into the garden and I found it full of flowers and vegetables. It wasn't really my garden, it was this overgrown, full of trellises, kind of garden. I even thought, "I have to go inside and write a post on GardenWeb! I can't believe all these things I am finding after neglecting my garden for so many weeks" I saw the largest eggplants, cucumbers, peppers, all in wonderful colors. Then I put this kind of shed/open room that I had found in a garage sale and it fit perfectly with another part of my patio. (You know how dreams are, you suddenly push half a room without trouble at all). It was an old building, with plaster and painted like a fresco. I could see the old paint in purple, blue, lilac colores, faded by age, and I even touched it. I could not believe I was the owner of all that. Then I woke up :-( I was so dissapointed.

Maybe my dream means that if I really want to have all that I really need to get up early and work in the garden :-)

Carmen it sounds like a wonderful dream garden. I think what it means is you have to take time for yourself and do things for you. Remember what Flylady says!
Especially at this time of year we all get cought up in trying to have the best Christmas ever and forgetting the true meaning of the season. DH and I have not even put up a tree, bought a gift or sent a card but it doesn't mean we don't have any spirit, just no money and no family in FL. On Christmas we will be volunteering at a local children's home, watching the children open gifts, helping to prepare breakfast and what ever else needs to be done. I am so looking forward to it.

Carmen, I think of those as "Fertility dreams." Not really dreams of having babies, but of being productive and fertile in my life. Creative.

Thank you guys. It was such a vivid dream and the gardens were so real... I need to go back to the garden and try to create something nice.

Marion, what a great way to spend Christmas day. It is true that we forget the true meaning of the season. Happy holidays to you too.

armen, it sounds as if your dream was an inspiration to get out of bed and get busy. You have had the opportunity to dream of what your perfect garden would be like and now YOU have the wonderful opportunity to make it happen. I too am a procrastinator at times, but I am learning the widsom of waiting, watching, visualizing and yes, even dreaming of what I truly want before tackling my vision. This winter I am getting everything ready and thanks to all my wonderful friends here - this spring I will have part of my dream become reality. Little by little my dream is taking shape and substance. Hang in there and your dream will become reality. *hug* Linda
