I'm not in your zone (10a), but sunflowers won't be a problem for sure! I grow them all spring and summer with no problem. I have also heard that nasturtiums can be grown here. I don't know about morning glories.

Welcome to the Florida forum! Your three favorites grow fine for me in my area. Sunflowers when is little warmer, morning glories and nasturtiums when is cooler.

My nasturtiums around the garden beds come up by themselves and I have them now.

I planted nasturtiums in September, and they have done wonderfully. I did not have luck with sunflowers planted in the spring, but morning glories and moon flower did great for me planted in the spring.

I am a northern transplant, moving down here last February. Gardening for 45 years, but learned a lot this year :-)

My advice. listen to the forum, but don't be afraid to try things that others haven't had success with. I had some failures that were predicted. However, I also was told that you can not get green peppers to do well during the summer months (I'm in Saint Pete), but had already planted 6 varieties in late april and all did superb. I had more peppers than i knew what to do with off of about 15 plants. The only started to falter come about October.

I've been here 3 years from New England. No problem with Morning Glories. Have had some luck with sunflowers until the squirrels discovered them, now they chew off every bud, so I've given up. Haven't had any luck with nasturtiums, either. Zinnias do well, though.
