have noted over the years a truism. "You can be a landscaper without ever becoming a collector but a collector will sooner or later transform into a landscaper"
At one time I was up to 500 pots Not only is that ugly there is no way you can take care of them!!

Too funny! My husband is my official hole digger! He doesn't have the "eye" but likes the outside gardening.

I always design our yard and put them in and maintains them. He takes great pride in being my hole digger.

Thanks Fawn. But I actually get and understand the concepts. I just don't see them. My eye doesn't get immediately drawn to focal points and such. I don't feel the differing tempos of plant arrangements. My mind and eyes race and move too much. I keep automatically trying to take it all in. While I do have an artistic bone and it is well used, my mind is more focused on the technicalities than the illusions.

Can relate to that . Wife has almost no interest in plants let alone landscaping lol See does serve as chief photographer, and keeps track of records for me .
Another thing she "adds " is bringing home plants that A don't fit into any plan B are too delicate and worst of all C
plants tht require cool /cold rest periods . Her last puchase was an Alocasia infernalis disguised by the common name "Black magic " Set a record for a nosedive in my alocasia bed lol
Oh well since she is usually pleasant ,doestn't interfere with my plants and most importantly controls the money think I'll let her stay lol gary
