I just bought my first kumquat this past weekend...funny..we went to the nursery (all family) and we eat many of the little fruits.. that we ended up buying one (the nagami) and planning to by the sweeter one later...

Florah, very nice tree..and large... when you planted it..was it the same size? (I meant to ask how fast it grows...)

Also, about deers...I have a small orange tree that got defoliated by deers..I have also a small tangerine one next to the orange and deers don't bother it... so, would the kumquat be bothered/defoliated by deers?

It was about the same size when it was planted.

Sorry, I don't know whether deer like the foliage. I was trying to google for it, but kumquat did not show up in the list. (see list in link)
