Please help! Pests on mustards and turnip roots

I've found these pests lurking in the roots of my various mustard plants, and surround the turnip roots accompanied by a white fungus-y substance in the soil. I've also found these pests on the leaves (pictured). They look to me like or similar to aphids - what do you think?

Your photo demonstrates super-poor root development, so this is a weak plant easily attacked by disease/insects.

Were these bought as plants or did you sow seed? Looks like the former to me. My experience has been that setting out transplant vegetables is particularly difficult in florida - the plants that have been raised in ideal professional conditions greatly don't appreciate suddenly landing in the pretty onerous conditions of a typical florida garden.
