I recently bought a house on the Gulf Coast (Venice) and don't want to re-sod. I'd like some suggestions on reviving what's there (it looks to be a mix of different grasses and some weeds). I was thinking of raking in some dried cow manure and re-seeding. Any suggestions for type of grass seed and when this should be done? The lawn has some areas in full sun, and some in mostly shade. I'm not too picky about getting rid of the weeds, as long as they're green they're fine with me.
