Springtime....are we there yet ?

Well I couldn't resist this weather...I planted most of my garden this past week.....

Earlier I had brought the tomato, pepper and eggplant seedlings from under the lights into the sun/shade to acclimate...they loved the SUN. I couldn't possibly fit them back under the lights anymore.....I planted the peppers in buckets......The 'maters went in the new raised beds...If/when we get a freeze I'll have to protect them in place with wraps and lights.

I'm still waiting on cabbage and cauliflower finishing in another "tomato" bed....and then I need to fluff the soil/mix there..

I also got an early seedling start on some Herbs, Squash and companion Nasturtiums

Anyone else lured into starting early ?????

........Here's a shot of my leftover Scotch Bonnet and Habernaros....these are only about 6 weeks old but HEALTHY ! Any Orlando takers ?

Hi Doug! Hi Pam!

Those peppers look super and I would love to take a couple off your hands. I've been moving seedlings in and out of the sunshine for weeks now and can't wait for the cold to be over.

Did you get frost this morning? I had to actually touch the blades of grass to make sure it was really frost !~ I didn't think it was supposed to get that cold here.

Oh well . . .

I will have some peppers to trade if you can wait for mine to get bigger.

Hi, your plants look as if they're off to a great head start. I don't blame you- even if it dips down again it might only be one more time and it is worth the effort to cover them rather than waiting until the the traditional "all clear" sometime in March.

I do not know how your winter in Central FL has compared to 2010 but on this side of the state I've been very happy that, although the weather has been wet cold crap most of the winter, we've avoided the extremes of 2010. I think our low so far in St. Pete was 39 or 40. Everyone's in ground Plumeria will live to see another year :)
