 o
weed or arugula

Need some help please. These have sprouted in a side-bed. I thought it's some kind of dandelion, looking quite pretty & I'm waiting for it to flower to confirm. Yesterday, a neighbor said it might be arugula and edible. I've tried looking for internet pics but can't find any similar.

Anyone knows what this is?

Kinda hard to tell w/ that small, blurry pic, but it does look a lot like the perennial arugula I grow. When it blooms, flowers are bright yellow.

Here is a link that might be useful: Page w/ images & info

Just taste it? Instant answer lol. It does look like my arugula which is trying now to flower.

My arugula leaves look similar to that, but they spread out along a more elongated stem. Yours looks to be growing in a rosette, like a dandelion.

FWIW, mine will have variations in growth & sometimes does form flat rosettes.....

Thank you all. I'll just wait to see what comes next. It has taught me a lesson - always remember to tag where/what/when seeds are sown.

I Have a similar weed that grows in my yard It has a peppery flavor similar to Arugula though stronger. It seems to thrive in dry conditions. I never thought about adding it to salads.

It is London Rocket and edible, enjoy!

Without a pic, it's difficult to guess, but if the seedlings look like arugula, it may be 'peppergrass' - a weed that's also in the mustard family & edible

Another possibility may be 'hawksbeard', which is in the lettuce family, I believe
