Only a gardener would understand my behavior...

| So....I have to share this because I can't tell my non-gardening friends as they will just think I've lost my mind. LOL...
This morning, I'm making coffee, breakfast, feeding the cats, etc....and, I look out the window and notice these whispy, flying-puffs of seeds. My first groggy thought was, 'Oh, how pretty...what is that?'
Then, it hit me - the butterfly weed seed pods have popped open!!! I'm losing all my seeds in the wind!!! OH NO!!! My plans to expand my butterfly weed plantings and attract more monarchs are literally being lost in the wind!
So - I drop everything I'm doing and RUN outside- still in my jammies -- and it's quite cold outdoors I might add! I immediately start collecting the remaining seeds that haven't blown away and start digging in the garden to plant them.
I'm just laughing thinking about it, but I know it makes perfect sense to you guys! ;-) |

| Sounds like very rational behavior to me ! very sensible, in fact i have been seen doing the very same thing only I manage to get my ratty old bathrobe on first and the folks walking their doggies down the street have something to stare at besides dog-poop, of couse they always look the other way when the doggie does poop and I am doing them a favor... sally |

| I understand.I rush out before Jim mows and dig up all the volunteer milkweed in the lawn to be planted elsewhere! |

| I see nothing irratuibal about it. I have been known to run outside in the rain in a very thin nightgown that becomes almost translucent to rescue items. You do not want to know about the day I ran out in underwear to catch a hanging basket that was about to fall due to the high winds. I still hope all my neighbors were inside. Linda |
