Lion's Ear or Lion's Tail?

Well, I know what I wanted but this is what I got.

It's 12-15' tall with broad spade-like leaves and blooms continuously, but certainly no where near the flowers or habit of the shorter variety. I like it and so do the bees BUT it's not what I wanted, if I'm not mistaken this is Leonotis.nepetifolia, yet my package of seeds from a reputable source clearly states it's Leonotis leonorus.

What do you think?

Can anybody with the short variety tell me if blooms perennially in Zone 10 like the tall stuff does?

Hi, Tom! I grow both, and YES - it blooms nearly year around here in my zone 8b. I end up pulling lots of seedlings of the one you are showing - it self-seeds everywhere!

Hi Kay, do you have any seeds for Leonurus? That's what I want.

Hey Mark, I'll send you this unopened pack of Nepetifolia seeds if you want but just be aware they are erroneously marked as Leonorus (sp. Leonurus)...just drop me a line.

I just went out and checked the dried flowers on the plant - no seeds. Email me if you want to try cuttings.
