I mail ordered bare root Kiowa black berries from Simmons nursery . From what I read a true low chill blackberry that should produce consistently 9b/10a. They are the thorny type. they are all putting out new growth already so maybe some fruit next year.

I like Kiowa as well.....I would never order again from Simmons though.

My Kiowa plants came with a tag that said bluecrop blueberry LOL I Called them and they assured me I got the correct plants said they would replace them if they were wrong , I asked How do I know. I didn't really get a good answer. We will see next year. The plants roots looked healthy and they have all started growing so they were good quality. They were one of the few places that carried Kiowa at a reasonable price.
