shear...how old is your plant? My grandmother, before she passed, showed me a trick to get them to bloom. Keep them in the dark for a month or so then bring them to the light...they will usually get blooms within a couple of weeks!

I don't know how old they are. A friend just gave them to me recently. They are about the size of pugluvr's picture above.

ok that trick should work then...if you can put them in a dark room or closet for a month or so then bring it to the light.

Its the change of temps which trigger blooms. Shorter day length (not lack of total light) and cool nights.

I've grown them for many years. Never do much with them at all. However, in NY I'd leave them outside until a frost before bringing them in. They always started setting buds and bloomed in Dec.

Florida is the first time I've had a repeat bloom. They stay outside here, and my guess is the cold temps we've had triggered budding.

Just a guess, but they are not Poinsettias and shouldn't be put in a closet.

Jane, that would make sense...I was just going on the way my grandmother did it and she always had wonderful bloom in TN.

I feed mine a light fetilizer almost every time I water them. That might help too. :o)
