Where have all the native Passionflower vines gone? They used to grow in profusion here in North Central Florida and I could find all I needed alongside rural roads. Now there are none. I have tried the varieties available through the seed catalogs but they are all butterfly bait. The native variety will have some caterpillars, but not enough to eat the vine bare. Does anyone know of a stand of wild passionflower in the North Central region of Florida.? Would appreciate the information. Thanks, John

They still grow along the Sunnhill Restoration levee. Granted, that's not a roadside, but it's still there. Mine.. or at least my Maypop (the native) got burned by that last bad frost a couple weeks ago and is just now coming back from root. So the ones in the wild might be similarly recouping.

Haven't noticed any growing wild/natural in Pinellas County, but the county is so highly developed, and I haven't a very trained eye for noticing them yet.
