Have you tried Excalibur Rare Fruit Nursery in Lake Worth, Fl? They specialize in the hard-to-find tropical fruits. Another source is Pine Island Nursery in Homestead, Fl. Both have websites.

Yes I have been to both, but they both said that they have never heard of this variety.

I've gone to every nursery or fruit tree seller I can find around the area, and no one seems to be aware of this particular variety. The HD's around here only seem to be interested in selling Citrus, avocado and mango.I did find a nursery that sold the plants, but is located in California. Unfortunately he does not ship. Only local pickup.

Home Depot and Lowes are both very big on bringing plants in only at their height of season/blooming time. (Think Christmas trees and Halloween pumpkins.) Crape myrtles arrive only in June. Fuschias arrive only in Feb-March. Camellias are put out in Nov-December. Many, many plants are carried only during their prime season and are not reordered. I don't know the height of season for carambola, but I would guess that repeated visits to Home Depot/Lowes every 3-4 weeks may pay off.

Also, not all of them have the same plants. You may want to go to different locations if not too difficult.
