Haven't been there yet, but Tampa Wholesale Nursery on McIntosh Rd looks to be pretty nice and they are open to the public.

Also, can anyone note if any nursery sells dwarf fruit trees?

Whenever I'm headed south to the Tampa area, my car (and husband) know that a stop at Kerby's in Seffner (2311 Parsons Ave, S.) is a given. Kerby's seems to get better with each visit.

Big fan of Duncheon's Nursery in Land 'o Lakes. It's a bit of a hike for me (In Palm Harbor), but when spring and summer set in, they've got a wonderful variety of plants.

Off the top of my head, some of plants I've purchased there:

Peacock Ginger, Devil's Trumpet, Purple Firespike, Variegated Clerodendrum, some heretofore (to me) unseen Coleus, pentas, butterfly bush, etc. etc.

Great prices, wide selection of ornamentals, standards, common landscaping plants, and a good variety of hanging plants and vines.

I first learned about D.N. through a post by Meems over at Hoe & Shovel.

If you come to St Pete, there are 2 very good nurseries to visit...Kathie's Korner Nursery on Haines Rd. & 61 Ave. North,.... and Willow Tree on 49 St abt. 43-45 Ave. North.... sally

There is a fantastic backyard (but large!) nursery specializing in fruit, called Dee's Trees in Seffner (a bit east of Tampa). Great place. Mostly 3 gallon and up.

Green Thumb nursery on Sheldon Rd. I really miss that place since we moved from Tampa.

I also like Jene's Tropicals in West St. Pete. She seems to have a better stock of fruit trees than most.
