You don't mean Maho, do you? Very invasive.

Hi natives and veggies. I'm not sure if it's called Maho. It's a brighter green than native sea grape, makes white fruit, grows bush like, and I've only ever heard it called Hawaiian Sea Grape. I'll google Maho to see if that's one and the same.

That sounds like Scaevola taccada, beach naupaka . It has naturalized in south FL in coastal areas. There is a native that looks similar but with smaller flowers, Scaevola plumieri.

Thank you, Eric, that is the plant I was talking about. It looks like it's an invasive outpacing some native coastal plants. Not a good idea ? What do you think ?
|
I wouldn't plant it on the dunes or adjacent to natural areas. But if your yard is urban and surrounded by development then I would. We have it here and it has never seeded or been a nuisance. But if you are wanting it for the dunes plant the native, Scaevola plumieri.
