That is a beautiful calla! I like the leaves also.

Love the mexican flame vine next door. Mine died. Anyone seen them for sale in Tampa Bay area, esp. St Pete?

RE: Giant Calla

Beautiful. What is your trick? I can't seem to get white callas to grow here. I figured they must prefer cool weather.

The giant white Hercules cultivar do fine in my 9b yard, I have 7 and 5 have bloomed. All are in part shade, mostly filtered sun. I have tried other calla lilies with not as much success as this particular cultivar.

Thanks for the tip on a variety that does well here!

Looks like you have palmettos in the background, pine scrub with typical Florida sandy soil or did you build the soil up some where you have the Callas?

Didn't build up the soil, only mulched it to keep weeds out. I sometimes water with some miracle grow added. Always at war with the palmettos, they would take over my yard.

Beautiful Calla...I have a couple of the smaller yellow ones that are just now beginning to come back.

I'm waiting for my Hosta to pop up as well...I hope it comes back this spring!
