Look at what I did!!!

I have tried so many times to grow cauliflower and it always ended up with foliage, dead plants, teeny tiny heads, bolted plants, you name it. But!!!

But this time I finally did it! WAHOOO!!!

That's all. I'm excited and had to share. :-D

Barbie, that is a nice cauliflower! I like them better than broccoli.

Thanks Silvia. I'm keeping a very close eye on it. In this heat a single day can make the difference with that head being tight or starting to bolt!

Heat is the word... Land O Lakes has been an inferno the last week or so.

I planted up a bunch of stuff in central fla in late january and the thing I expected to do least well was the bought cauliflower plants, because it seemed late in the season and the flats were allowed to go bone dry at least once. However reports are that they are doing quite well.

It's nearly tripled in size this week thanks to this weekens rain and cool spell. That head is slated for the dinner table this week. Will update soon!
