Need THICK hedge

Looking for suggestions. I am in zone 10 SE FL. My backyard has ficus hedges at the perimeter, about 50 feet. I need to add something a few feet in front of those that grows very thick and dense. I back up to another community's public pool area and I need to somewhat block my small dog's view of the people as she does a lot of barking which is annoying to everyone. I cannot put up a fence per my HOA. I would want to keep in trimmed to about 3 feet.. Appreciate any comments.

Does she only bark on sight, or will sound & smell trigger her as well? Because a hedge won't block those things very well, I think...

Sometimes on sight but not all the time. Sometimes sounds but not all the time. I am thinking maybe coco plum as a possibility.

An easier solution would be a bark activated shock collar. They learn VERY fast not to bark and they don't associate you with the correction.

Carissa macrocarpa boxwood beauty is a good thick short hedge that does not really need too much care or trimming, if ever...very easy plant.

It'll free up time for more dog training...which btw is FUN! Get into it and everyone wins.

Surinam Cherry, Lorapetulum, and Pineapple Guava make nice hedges. We had a beagle with the same issue.
