As RoundUp only works through foliar application, he can resod almost immediately. And while I don't do lawns myself - I have a bit of lawn but aside from regular mowing I don't actively support it - it is my understanding that you want to remove the old turf before laying down new sod, not doing so can invite all sorts of pests willing to get to the decaying grass under the new sod. A slower, less labor intensive way to do it, is to put in plugs and let them spread back into the surrounding lawn, but this takes time.

According to the University of Florida the label is the law. I've encountered so many people that don't bother to read the label. It isn't funny.

Reminds me of a time years ago when as a naive first time homeowner I merrily went around my lawn spraying Roundup on all the weeds. The polka dotted lawn that resulted was quite embarrassing until it grew back in.

round-up comes in a variety of concentrations so reading the label could save a lot of time and money and agony.

I can't tell you how many of these stories I've heard, and those about people doubling and tripling pesticides thinking it would do more good and killing off their entire landscape. People are stupid, which is why Dursban and Diazinon were banned. People were using them to spray for bugs in their houses and getting sick.

My only advise ; " As a last resort, read the instructions ! "
