bleeding hearts - hi Nyphrodel

I got an email message through Gardenweb from Nyphrodel, but it also said I couldn't answer it. So answering here:

My bleeding heart was originally in deep shade. Last year its shade tree came down in a storm and it's now in full, blazing sun. It doesn't seem to care one way or the other. I had to trim it back as much this year as I did last year.

It's also in an area of my yard that has the poorest soil, very rocky with very little organic matter. It likes that.

I don't water that area ever and nothing there gets fertilized. The only flower that does as well in this bed is nasturtium, which won't grow in any of the better soil in my yard, but likes the rocky stuff.

And the bleeding heart was unaffected by the white fly outbreak that just moved in a slow crawl across the yard, attacking crotons, firebush and gardenia.

Hope that helps
Susannah
