Brown spot on bell pepper

I have some yellow bell peppers growing in a container. I forget the name; I got them as seedlings from the feedstore. They're planted in MG potting mix, with 5 holes drilled in the bottom of the white plastic container. The peppers are about 1/3 the size of a mature pepper now and one has developed a soft brown spot on the bottom. What might be causing this? Too much/ too little water? The heat? Critters? The plant itself looks fine.

It could be blossom end rot from lack of calcium, or just sun scorch. Don't know where you are, but it's best to provide some afternoon shade for bell peppers in southern Florida.

When using Miracle Grow potting mix it is best to also mix in some natural dolomite lime before planting as MG is lacking in micro-minerals that plants need.

I'm in Jax. I have them set on sawhorses up under a water oak so they have sun in the morning but then the tree shades them as the sun gets too harsh.
