Lisianthus

Rhonda

Does anyone grow lisianthus in the ground in North Central Florida? I had never see these plants until today when I stopped by Walmart. They are gorgeous pink and purple. From what I've been reading online, they are very picky and difficult to grow.
Do you think they would do well in a site woth morning sun and afternoon shade? The soil is a well draining mix of sand, compost and soil.
Also, anyone have luck with them coming back each year here?

Thanks for your help!
Rhonda

Here's a link to an earlier discussion about lisianthus, although it's geared more to central/ south FL:

Thanks Katkin and writersblock! I'll see how these do since they were pretty cheap. I'll search for the Florida hardy species.
