I have seen something similar around my area this spring that I do not recall seeing last year. As near as I can tell, what I have is the White Checkered Butterfly. Some of the pictures on the internet have much more black than the ones that are fluttering around my house, while some seem to be spot on. (Get it? Spot on? Spot? The butterflies have sp... ah... nevermind.)

If it was really small (wings about the size of plumbago petals) and flying like it had had way too much caffeine, it might have been a hairstreak or Cassius.

Wax on. Wax off. Gotcha with the spots. This is the size of a moth. I was thinking Cabbage moth but the spots are round and on the bottom wings. Not the size of a plumbago. Yeah the smaller they are the faster they fly! Thanks everyone for your replies.
