They have to drop the tent to the ground and make a seal. Anything planted under the tent will suffer. At my parents place, a few of the hardier crotons and other plants came back. Some did not.
Ask your guy if you need to have your uncommon plants dug up.

people who work for terminix, they both said that watering
very deeply will help which I actually knew, but one guy
said that putting sheets over them help, while the other
guy said sheets don't help. Any suggestions will help.
Even though I know the tops of some plants may suffer, I'm
most concerned with totally loss of some plants.

A friend of mine just had this done and coffeemom is correct...anything under the tent will be harmed or killed. She left some things like sanseveria now coming back as well as a big philodendrum but neither look healthy. She dug up everything else and moved plants away from the house. A lot of work but something you must do is you want to save your garden!
