Source for common Elephant's Ear?

I just moved to a new house and dug up a lot of the elephant's ear to take with me. I cleaned off the corms and left them to dry in a box in the garage till I was ready to plant them. Unfortunately it was a pretty wet and humid winter and most of them rotted. I've looked at some nursery's that sell it online, but they seem to just carry exotic types for big bucks. I'm happy with the common one, it's always done well for me. I'm afraid it might be a little too common that no place bothers carrying it. Someone told me to buy taro root at a grocery store, but none I've been to carry it. Any other suggestions? I'd really like a big mass of them at the back of my property.
