Mine root up easily in soil, and I'd use vermiculite instead of perlite :)

Nancy, there are probably a lot of methods to root the cuttings, I did mine in a different way and they all rooted. When rooting plants I like to use a plastic container because it is not permanent and will be transplanting when needed. Walli's cutting was done straight in the ground, gets full sun. Tom's cutting is in a plastic container semi-shade and Al's mix. The cutting from Hawaii was very small and I rooted in a styrofoam cup and Miracle Grow soil. Because we are going to get warmer temperatures, I would root it in a spot with light but some shade.

None of my cuttings had leaves when I got them.

Okay, I removed them, Thanks Silvia!! I did some youtube research and they all had NO leaves while they root them so I did the same thing :o)

Just get them in the ground with a good garden soil, or in a pot with some good potting soil.......listen to Silvia . She gave me one beautiful plumeria!

I rooted a cutting wallisadi gave me in als gritty mix. It has done excellent! It is 4' tall now and branching. I have it in a 20" diameter clay pot filled with gritty mix.nthis was it in bloom last fall

M, did you get one of these? I sent over about thirty sticks year before last to Silvia's swap, I wanted to make sure you got one since the justicia and clivia you sent me have been so spectacular.

Mine was about the size of yours, and started in Dec 2011, so about 2 years to bloom:)
