Propagating Hawaiian Sunset Vine Tips and Exciting Developments

My Hawaiian Sunset vine has developed leaf variegation on some of its leaves. The stem with the variegated leaves is also variegated. I haven't had any flowers yet on this part of the vine. This is the first time I've experienced a sport or genetic mutation of any kind in my garden, so this is an exciting development for me.

If the mutation is stable, I'd like to try to propagate it. What is the best way to take a cutting do you think? Does it root in water? What sort of medium should I root it in? Should I use rooting hormone?
