Thanks. I will try that. Here are some photos I took of the variegated leaves. Sorry it was humid when I took the photos. In the last photo you can see the variegation on the stem a little.

Oh my gosh, look at that. How exciting. I have a Hawaiian Sunset Vine that has grown huge, no sign of variegation. I can see the variegation clearly in the photo-cool!!

Mine is huge too and has been all green for the last two years. I'm going to wait until this variegated part grows out a little and then try the propagation method you suggested.

Watch the variegation for mutating back. I would propagate it, grow it in a pot for a while to see that ne wgrowth does variegate. Otherwise, you could just get a green vine again. Good luck, and post us if successful!

I have learned not to fertilize variegated plants in general. Fertilzer stimulates growth and cell reproduction, and rapid cell reproduction can cause the mutation (variegation) to reverse in the new growth to the more common genetics (all green).

I learned the hard way, of course, after my Asiatic Jasmine 'Tricolor' (also called 'Snow N Summer') - a lovely green, pink and white - turned solid green. Bummer. So I pretty-much hold back on fertilizer of any kind on my variegated plants.

That is a beautiful variegation. I wouldn't cut it until that branch got very long so you had several cuttings worth and some to remain on the mother plant just in case something goes wrong.

I have found my Hawaiian Sunset Vine very easy to propagate. I just took cuttings dipped them into Rootone and poked them into a big 3 gallon community pot with MG potting soil and extra perlite mixed in and placed them in the shade. Keep damp but not soggy. Cut most all the leaves off the cuttings except maybe small ones at the tip or cut a larger leaf in half if no small ones. I do about 8 inch cuttings.

Another good method for rooting vines is the soft green floral foam. I cut a piece to fit in a tupperware container and fill the container with water. Dip your cuttings in rooting hormone and then poke a hole into the foam with a toothpick and stick them down into the floral foam. Set it in a sunny window or dappled shade outside. Works really excellent for a lot of vines and the cuttings are about 6 inch length. Keep water in the container until rooted. Then cut the foam apart with a knife and plant :)

That's just spectacular! What is the bloom pattern and I suppose it is quite tropical. Does it get huge, too? TIA.
