Dem Bloomin Potatoes

I had the main bathroom gutted the first part of the year, so I didn't get my potato seed in until April. Maybe it'll yield, or maybe not. I had the seed already, so the money had been spent. One of the plants is starting to flower. Should I rip them little blooms off so ti'll spend its energy on tubers? Or does it matter? I've never left them in the ground long enough to flower before.
