But Nature Also Provides

Along with obsevations that sometimes Mother Nature does things that seem to defy our best efforts, sometimes she does things that just makes sense. Last week, while I was weeding a bed, I noticed that one of my Walter's 'Whorld Class' Viburnums was budding up to bloom for a second time (it had already bloomed back in April). Then, this week, as the tiny little flowers were opening, the first of 'new' Gulf Frits that had been growing my Passionvines started fluttering from the shed to the viburnum. I have other nectar plants around the vines, and the butterflies do use them, but it seems the viburnum is their first choice once their wings are dry enough. I don't know if viburnums are supposed to bloom more than once a year, but regardless of if they do or not, this one decided to bloom at JUST the right time.
