I've never heard of or seen deer munching on crape myrtle trees and everything that I've read online seems to indicated that they are pretty deer resistant.

Those cute lil' Bambies are a menace in my yard, they don't touch Crepe Myrtles, they like fresh new leaves on Loquat Trees, Begonias, Day Lilies, Rose of Sharon, Queen's Wreath, and Devil's Trumpet. I use Fish Fertilizer and they hate the smell of it, leave stuff alone. You can dilute it if you don't need the plant nutrients, the diluted portion still is a deterrent but won't burn leaves, etc. Plant Skyyd is a product that you can order online, works well, too. I have tried the usual garlic, cayenne pepper and egg mixture with only mixed results. Sometimes it seemed like I was putting relish on a sandwich, when I used the Deer Off.

WHEW!! if the fish fertilizer smells anything like the fish meal we used as crab/shrimp bait, it would deter the most determined poacher! Thanks for the tip!
