Name That Tree!

Wrote that subject with a 60's game-show announcer's voice in my head!

Seriously, what kind of tree is this? They flower in mid-late June in the Orlando area, have quite a bit of floral fragrance, and are killing me! (allergies)

The one in the photo is one house removed from the bottom of my garden, but I am surrounded!

Hi Alys

We have them around the trail where I live, if it is the same like the images below...they drop a lot of flowers.

Thanks Sylvia,
but I don't think it's that one. The leaves are very different.
I made the effort to cross the street to take a closer picture. Now that I did, I realize that this tree has thrown little babies in the yards of all the surrounding houses.

Pelta Phorum

The ones around Orlando are Peltophorum dubium, Yellow Poinciana.

Peltophorum pterocarpum is similar but more tender. These are called Copperpod as the seed pods will turn a coppery/pinkish color. They are fairly common in south FL but have a hardiness similar to Royal Poinciana.

Not Golden Rain Tree though that may be a common name in some areas.
