Monarch & swallowtail cats

I was finally able to get out into the garden yesterday after work without getting drenched by the rain and found that there are a lot of monarch and swallowtail catepillars in the garden. I counted at least 3 dozen swallowtail cats on the fennel and about a dozen monarchs scattered about the garden on the milkweed. The monarchs are really fat and happy this year!

And the swallowtails have more then enough fennel to much on as the plants have been growing like crazy with all of this rain.

So cool! I wish Cathy didn't hate having cats around, I'm only allowed to have nectars.... :-(

Are there milkweeds that don't get covered in those other icky beetle type bugs? I was going to get some for my yard, but after seeing those and then after reading on google thats like their only foods source...
