Isn't it a little early to start seeds for the fall planting? :o) I've never done it so I really want to know.

Nope, not in Central Florida, anyway. The idea is to get the tomato seeds started early enough so that they'll produce before the cold weather comes. If you're purchasing plants that are ready to go into the garden, then you'd wait until mid-August (same time as the seedlings would be ready).
