Golden Orb, we have them all over the woods, I wave a big stick in front of me when I walk through, don't want it in my face, no, thank you.

How many bugs does this guy catch nightly..........huge, intricate web......amazes me........thx

M - I have one of those spider webs just outside of my living room. My granddaughter named "her" Charlotte, as in "Charlotte's Web" (kid's book). We like the look of the web too so we leave it alone.

I once lamented that I did not have any of these in my yard and questioned whether or not they lived in Florida. People said that they did live here and I had someone offer to let me have some egg sacs, but I declined as my wife really doesn't like spiders. Now that my garden beds are starting to mature, I have these showing up on their own. Which again holds the 'build it and they will come' statement to be true. Now if I could only convince my wife that the orb webs are just Yard Art...
