Butterflies are smart

A black butterfly kept flying against our pool enclosure trying desperately to get in. I thought "That is a crazy butterfly, there's nothing in here they want" thinking it was a Gold Rim.

Oops. On investigation it was a Black Swallowtail, beautiful and the first I've seen in a year. Yes, I had two pots of parsley on the lanai and moved one outside. haven't seen it come back yet but it will.

Wow what a sense of smell to find their larval plant well inside the lanai on a windy day.
