UF says wait until September in South Florida.

I don't see why a tomato cage wouldn't work. You might even be able to plant two or three plants around the cage rather than inside.

I try to go by the UF planting guides as well - & FWIW, my pole beans get way taller than any tomato cages. I have some now on 8'+ poles & they've overtopped them easily. I grow Rattlesnake beans.

They can be grown on tomato cages, this isn't the best picture but occasionally I do it when I have other things growing on the garden trellises. These are the really tall plastic-coated cages, I bought 22 of them for $6 each when Target was getting out of the Garden Shop business. You can also take cages like this and double up by securing the large circles end-to-end with 1/8" wire-rope clips. As stated earlier, they'll easily outgrow the single cage height and twine around each other as gravity sends them downward, but still put out more beans ;-)

BTW, for Seminole you're too early, not too late ;-) Rust and mildew would get them now during the rainy season, wait til about 9/15 to direct sow seed - and keep your fingers crossed we don't have a bad hurricane season....

Thank you for the timing tip Tom. We have a bunch of seeds to start for tomatoes and peppers so we can put them all out at the same time. :) Oh and the picture is super helpful!
